Some places make you think about what a team could become. For Pixel Bowl, Brașov is one of those places: a city with university talent, a central location and the space to take a breath between intensive QA sessions.

We chose Brașov because we could see several things coming together. Its universities offer the potential to connect with people who are learning, exploring technical careers and deciding where to take their skills. Its central position within Romania makes it a natural place to build connections.
And then there is the city itself. Brașov’s history and its mountain surroundings make it a place where we could imagine a team building a life as well as a career. There is real value in stepping away from a demanding test session and finding fresh mountain air close by.
For us, those qualities belong in the same conversation. The environment around a studio matters to the people who will make it their workplace.
We began our Brașov office in 2026 with a small team. This first group is the foundation of a studio we want to grow carefully, with a particular focus on education and helping people transition into gaming QA.
Building a dedicated gaming QA presence here gives us the opportunity to introduce a career path that may be unfamiliar to people outside the industry. An interest in games can be a starting point. Developing the observation, communication and testing skills needed to contribute professionally is the next step.
We want Brașov to be a place where people can discover gaming QA—and learn how to build a career in it.
Our early chapter is about creating the conditions for that growth: a team that can share experience, support newcomers and develop a studio culture with learning at its centre.
Our plans for Brașov also include expanding our AI laboratory. Alongside that infrastructure, we intend to work with universities to develop educational programmes that encourage participation in AI and its development within gaming.
These are plans we want to build with the local academic community. The opportunity is to connect curiosity and technical learning with the practical questions that come from working on games.
Help people understand the discipline of game testing and develop the skills needed to move into the field.
Develop lab capacity and pursue educational collaboration with universities, encouraging learning and exploration around AI.
The lab and educational programmes are part of our future development, rather than completed initiatives. We want to give them the time, people and partnerships needed to become useful parts of the studio.
Our plan is to grow the Brașov team to 30 people in 2027 and complete the AI lab setup by the end of that year. These goals give the studio a direction while leaving room to build the team and its capabilities responsibly.
We see Brașov as a long-term investment in people and potential. The small team we have started with is the beginning of that story. The next chapters will be written with the people who join us, the educators we work with and the games we help improve.
