Pixel Bowl Studio’s Work on Hell Let Loose Nominated for “Best Support Services Project” at RGDA Awards 2025

We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news: Hell Let Loose, a title we’ve proudly supported since 2020, has been nominated for Best Support Services Project at the Romanian Game Developers Association Awards 2025! 🏆

This nomination means a great deal to our team at Pixel Bowl Studio. It recognizes over five years of dedicated work behind the scenes, where we’ve poured our passion into ensuring one of the most authentic and large-scale World War II shooters on the market delivers a smooth, engaging experience for players around the world.

About the Game – Hell Let Loose

Hell Let Loose is a hardcore World War II first-person shooter that features 100-player battles, a unique blend of FPS action and RTS-inspired strategic gameplay, and a historically accurate portrayal of the European and Eastern Fronts. Developed originally by Black Matter and published by Team17, the game has grown into a beloved franchise, with a passionate community and an ever-evolving live service model.

Players take on the roles of infantry, tank crews, or commanders in large-scale 50v50 battles across iconic battlefields such as Omaha Beach, Carentan, Kursk, and Stalingrad. Communication, coordination, and strategy are essential, making it one of the most demanding and rewarding military shooters on the market.

Our Role in the Project

Pixel Bowl Studio joined the project in early 2020, right as the game was entering a critical phase of development during its Early Access period on Steam. Since then, we have played a key role in supporting the game’s growth and stability across multiple platforms — PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Here’s what our support services included:

  • Functional, regression, and compatibility QA for every major and minor update.

  • Platform-specific testing for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

  • Live service support, investigating and verifying community-reported issues.

  • Pre-launch and post-launch QA for new maps, vehicles, weapons, and features.

  • Collaboration with Team17 and Black Matter on structured testing plans and iterative QA feedback loops.

  • Tool development and internal QA process refinement to ensure fast, scalable testing across builds.

Our work was often embedded directly into the development process, ensuring bugs were caught early, updates were delivered with confidence, and the team could make design decisions informed by reliable testing insights.

Recognition that Matters

Being nominated at the RGDA Awards 2025 in the Best Support Services Project category is more than just a badge of honor — it’s validation for the hundreds of hours our QA professionals, leads, and coordinators have invested to make sure Hell Let Loose remains one of the most stable and performant online shooters in its class.

In a world where support work often goes unnoticed, we’re incredibly grateful to see our team’s commitment recognized in this way.

Thank You to Our Partners

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Team17 for the trust, transparency, and continuous collaboration throughout this journey. The relationship we’ve built over the years is a model for how support teams and publishers can work in sync to elevate a title and keep players engaged.

Looking Ahead

Our work on Hell Let Loose continues, as the game evolves with new updates, technical challenges, and exciting content. We’re proud to be part of this journey and even more proud of the talented QA professionals at Pixel Bowl Studio who make it all possible.

To our friends in the industry: here’s to the unseen heroes — the QA testers, support engineers, coordinators, and technical partners — who keep great games running smoothly.
